We are a family owned, boutique style, bicycle store that caters to all levels of cyclist, from casual to commuters, recreational to racers. We offer full service and repair on all types of bicycles as well as professional bicycle fitting services for road, cyclocross, mountain and triathlon riders. Our goal is to really practice what we preach. We try very hard to only stock a product if we can personally stand behind it; everything we’ve carried, from day one, is a product we use day in and day out. We strive to provide outstanding customer service, treating everyone with respect and advising customers wisely, whether visiting for browsing or buying. This customer service extends beyond the sales floor. Cykel staff strives to involve the customer in as much of the service and fitting process as possible, taking the stance that involving the rider in the work of his or her bicycle improves the overall riding experience. Cykel also offers up a large section of their shop’s wall space as a gallery for local artists to show their works. We rotate the gallery display every other month in conjunction with the North Beach First Friday art walks.
Meet the Cykel Team
Nik serves as Cykel’s Head Bicycle Fitter and General Manager. He is a certified bicycle fitter through David Greenfield’s Biomechanical Bicycle Position (BBP) method. Nik likes to trail Zoe to the shop using his trusted Fairdale Weekender. He also owns a Ritte Vlaanderen, which sees the lion’s share of the miles as well a custom stainless and carbon fiber Ritte Muur. Both are equipped with SRAM Red components and Zipp wheels. Though those are just three of the six bikes he currently owns and rides (Rocio made him down size…). Other than riding his bikes, he enjoys spending time with his son Matthew, salt-water taffy and eating Nutella® on a spoon.
Rocio Pearce is the Art Manager and keeper of the books. She enjoys cycling recreationally, though she has become quite the street-wise bike commuter since she built herself a Shimano Alfine 8 speed hub equipped SOMA Buena Vista mixte a few years back. When she’s at the shop you will find her assistant, little baby Matthew, taking care of the sales floor clean-up with his PJs.
Zoe Dumplin’ is in charge of pet relations and keeps the whole crew in line. She enjoys playtime with other pups, sleep-time at the shop and eating carrots. She has quickly become a public figure in the neighborhood and is quite the attraction for tourist and locals alike as they walk up Union Street. She has her own fan base at www.facebook.com/zoedumplin.
All bike sales and special orders are final.
